Helicopter Training
ORLANDO FLIGHT SCHOOL offers a whole suite of flight training services! From flying for fun to becoming a professional pilot we offer all types of training solutions.
PRIVATE PILOT
During your Private Pilot flight training you will be taught how to safely and professionally operate a helicopter. You will form a flight training plan with your flight instructor who will take you through the entire process. At the end of your training you will become certificated through the FAA as a Private Pilot.
INSTRUMENT RATING
If you want to become a safer pilot, or go on to become a professional pilot, this is a great step that you can take! In our instrument helicopter training program, you will learn how to fly the helicopter in limited visibility, and poor weather conditions. You will learn to fly by just looking at the helicopter’s flight instruments. Becoming an instrument rated helicopter pilot will increase your confidence in the helicopter, and it will greatly increase your ability to fly the helicopter as a professional!
COMMERCIAL HELICOPTER TRAINING
If you want to become a career pilot, then this is the next step after you are a Private Pilot! Once you become a commercial pilot, you can now be paid to fly. Throughout your training with your flight instructor you will build your flight time until you reach the legal minimum of 150 hours to achieve your commercial pilot's license.
CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (CFI)
The next step after becoming a commercial pilot is to become a Certified Flight Instructor! In this course you will learn the ins and outs of being a flight training professional while passing along your knowledge to the next generation of pilots.
CERTIFIED INSTRUMENT FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR TRAINING (CFI-I)
Once you become a Certified Flight Instructor you can continue on further and become a rated instrument instructor in the helicopter.
ADVANCED AUTOROTATION TRAINING
Feeling a little rusty on your autorotations? It is highly recommended that you keep yourself prepared once you get your certificate. Doing recurrent training on emergency procedures and autorotations is the best way to ensure you always make it to your destination safely.
Turbine Transitions
We provide training in the Bell Jet Ranger 206. Our Turbine Transition Course provides a solid foundation for expanding your skill set into turbine helicopters, which is largely becoming a prerequisite for commercial work.
Our course includes 10 hours of ground school and 5 hours of dual instruction, and is often completed over 3 consecutive days.
Aircraft Refresher
Designed for pilots whom currently or have previously flown various types of aircraft and need to review flight characteristics and emergency procedures. Ground school reviews aircraft systems, limitations, and performance.
Prerequisite: FAA Private Pilot Helicopter License
